Want to make a difference in a teenager’s life?  Had a mentor that made an impact in your life? Easy communication through email, phone, and zoom.

Mentoring Program:  Woodside High School’s Green Academy is looking for career mentors.  Students in the Green Academy will be inspired both in and outside the traditional classroom to become stewards of their environment, leaders in their communities, and innovators in the field of green technology.  During their sophomore year, students’ CTE course is focused on Plant and Soil Science; and they regularly work in the WHS garden.  For many, this is their favorite time of the week and they would love to learn more about careers in this area.

The mentor program will pair students with professionals to discuss both academic and career goals.  The student’s career interests are wide-ranging from landscape architecture and environmental science to marketing and sales. I’m hoping that you, or someone that you know, might be able to participate in this program as a mentor.

Commitment:  Approximately 2-3 hours per month, with all interactions done remotely, either through zoom, email, phone, or text messages from January to June 2021.

Introductory meeting: Planned for January 21.  In addition, we would like to give students some insight into all the different careers that mentors hold with career round tables on Thursday, November 12th, 10-11 am or 12-1 pm.
