The designation of ASLA Fellow is one of the highest honors the national organization bestows on its members in recognition of their exceptional individual accomplishment over a sustained period of time and their significant contribution to the profession and society at large.

Recognition of Fellows
Each year the Northern California Chapter nominates 4-6 members in one of four categories: works, leadership and management, knowledge, and service. Eligible members may suggest themselves and/or any other eligible member to be considered for nomination. The individual must be a full member of ASLA in good standing for at least ten (10) consecutive years to be eligible for this distinction and have received recognition for their contributions from multiple sources.
Nomination Process
Each fall, National ASLA forwards to chapters a roster of members who meet this criterion of ten (10) years of full membership. Being one of the largest chapters in the country, the Northern California Chapter is fortunate to have hundreds of names on this list. The Chapter’s Executive Committee reviews the list and contacts a select group of eligible members inviting them to apply for nomination.
We appreciate your help in recommending members for nomination by submitting their names to our chapter leadership. Our chapter assists highly qualified members to move forward with their applications by providing guidance on proofing, editing, and offering helpful hints for successful nomination. However, the bulk of the application writing is on the candidate themself (and/or their assistants). Being nominated by the Chapter does not guarantee that the member will be elevated to Fellow.
