The Urban Studio is a Washington DC based 501(c)(3) organization created in 2019 with proven capacity to equitably engage diverse communities. They are an organization owned and operated by a cohort of designers of color committed to addressing racial and environmental disparities through the discipline of landscape architecture. If we hope to make systemic change, we need to change the way we think and teach urban design. The Urban Studio will share some key projects that have allowed them to pursue their vision of creating a world where all people have the means to create healthy, vibrant, and just communities.
