The ASLA student chapter awards are part of a national program that recognizes academic achievement. Students from accredited programs are nominated by their faculty, and a panel of professional members judge the work. The Northern California Chapter coordinates with UC Berkeley on this program. This year we are pleased to announce that there is a cash prize to accompany the certificate! ASLA-NCC Executive Committee member Carmen Erasmus presented the awards at a ceremony in Blake Garden on May 19. The Merit Award for Undergraduate Achievement went to Grace Amundson. The Honor Award for Undergraduate Achievement went to John Tatro. The Merit Awards (there are two) for Achievement in Graduate Studies went to Daria Kieffer and Grace Mitchell. The Honor Awards for Achievement in Graduate Studies went to YuLing Chen and Arturo Fuentes-Ortiz. Congratulations to the 2019 winners! We wish all recent grads success in their careers as future landscape architects.
