This conversation will begin with a 20-minute presentation, putting forth the idea that change with continuity is essential. Opening remarks will examine the planning, design and stewardship opportunities (and constraints) frequently encountered when dealing with cultural landscapes. These remarks will address personal and foundational principles, while demonstrating how to bridge the artificial, often segmented divides between both design and historic preservation and nature and culture. The conversation that follows with attendees will aim to expand our values for more holistic and apt design interventions.
