Northern California is facing a set of regional challenges, ranging from fires, floods, and loss of biodiversity – to homelessness and urban flight in once vibrant downtowns. As we have always, local landscape architects are meeting the moment developing impactful solutions to address our most pressing environmental issues. The ASLA-NCC Executive Committee is brainstorming for the Chapter’s first local symposium, planned for mid-2024, to gather Northern California design professionals and allies to share ideas and visions. We would love to hear your thoughts on topics and event formats that you would be interested in. Please CLICK HERE to share your input by July 21st, 2023.
If you would like to get involved in a more active role in the symposium, or if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Laura A. Leuer ( and Anson Wong (
