On April 27, representatives from the Northern California Chapter joined with colleagues from around the nation to participate in Advocacy Day 2017 in Washington DC. Each spring, a large contingent of landscape architects meet with members of the US Senate and House of Representatives to promote the profession of landscape architecture and ask Congress to support initiatives critical to our values and practice. This year we advocated for funding and support of TIGER grant programs, the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds, and the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Our appointments "on the hill" were empowering and effective, and the excitement continued at an evening reception.
