Designed to accomplish ambitious and future focused ecological and social objectives, the LinkedIn campus rejects the ubiquitous recipe for suburban tech workplaces. It is designed to promote public interaction, diverse ecologies, mobility, and year-round comfort.This project transformed an outdated parking lot into an active landscape merging people, ecology, and infrastructure. Leveraging a multi-million dollar investment in air handling equipment and structural upgrades, the landscape is embedded with a condensate capture system that is used to irrigate habitats and the extensive mature shade canopy. In a bionic composition of technology and natural systems, the design combines a complex stormwater system, adaptive habitats, and active and passive amenity spaces to create a workplace environment that thinks and acts beyond its boundaries.
