SUMMARY:ASLA-NCC Black History Month Reflection at SF MoMA
DESCRIPTION:Join us in honor of Black History Month\, as we visit exhibits by Black Artists currently ongoing at SF MoMA. This is an opportunity to ignite curiosity and reflection on some of the curated stories representing individuals in the black community; acknowledging realities past\, present & future\, celebrating the path that blazes all three. \nWe will reflect with guided prompts in personal observation of these exhibits after which we will shortly reconvene to share discourse and trade truths as we look to foster hope & advocacy in our practice of Landscape Architecture and as humans to other humans. \nBring your friends\, bring your colleagues\, bring your mind. \n11am-12pm – Observe MoMA special exhibits\, including South African visual activist Zanele Muholi’s “Eye Me” (Floor 3) and “What Matters: A Proposition in Eight Rooms” (floor 4) \n12pm-1pm – Reflection with Discussion at Cafe 5 (Floor 5)\, food not provided but may be purchased at Cafe 5. \n*After the event you will have access to explore the rest of the museum\, closes at 5pm. \nLocation: San Francisco MoMA\n151 3rd Street\, SF \nTransportation and Parking: https://www.sfmoma.org/visit/getting-here/ \nCost: ASLA Member $10\, Non-ALSA Member $20\, Students $5 \nRegistration is required by February 22nd.
