Immediate Past President Eugenia Martin, FASLA, will discuss the 1973 report on Women in Landscape Architecture by the ASLA Board of Trustees Task Force headed up by the late President Darwina Neal, FASLA. Looking at contemporary data on enrollment, employment, and licensure, Martin will consider the progress women have made in the profession and where the future leads.

Eugenia M. Martin, FASLA, has been making significant and notable contributions to the practice of landscape architecture for over 25 years, working in both the public and private sector. Her leadership, experience, and vision for making the world a better place is coupled
with an unbridled passion for landscape architecture and the engagement of fellow design professionals.

Eugenia M. Martin, FASLA, has been making significant and notable contributions to the practice of landscape architecture for over 27 years, working in both the public and private sector. Her leadership, experience, and vision for making the world a better place is coupled with an unbridled passion for landscape architecture and the engagement of fellow design professionals.
Martin is very active in leadership, having served at the national level as ASLA Vice President of Government Affairs and Ohio Chapter Trustee among other offices. Martin’s leadership extends beyond ASLA, volunteering on the Worthington Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board and the Advisory Board for Kent State’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design. In 2009, Martin was recognized with the Ohio Chapter ASLA Service Award. She was one of the first recipients of ASLA National’s Outstanding Service Award in 2013 for her advocacy efforts on behalf of the profession. Martin is a graduate of The Ohio State University and is a licensed landscape architect in Ohio. Currently, she shares her talents and skills as a Senior Project Manager for The Ohio State University and the Wexner Medical Center.
